There will also be a focus on building core muscle groups while improving posture through a variety of exercises that strengthen the abdomen and back muscles and increase flexibility. Boys & Girls Basketball Open Gym (entering gr. 4-12)Sports & RecreationPreregistration required to attend - no walk ups! The CHS/West Gyms will be open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 7-9 pm for basketball players to practice their skills. A gym supervisor will be onsite for the duration of the open gym. High School coaches may be present on occasion to offer assistance; however, this is not an instructional program - just a chance for athletes to work on their game. Participants will check in each night with the supervisor. Centennial Alumni Summer Shakespeare Theater (C.A.S.T.) (entering gr. 6 through alumni)Fine Arts (Music/Voice/Theater)All ages and experience levels are welcome. Don't be nervous or intimidated about doing Shakespeare as we accommodate and teach all levels of experience, and each play will have non-speaking and speaking roles. Grades 6-8 will perform "Shakespeare Tonight"William Shakespeare is the guest on a talk-show as he talks about his famous work and life, we see them created onstage (as well as some Shakespeare Tonight Special Guest appearances). Grades 9-12 will perform "Romeo and Juliet" Adult Alumni 18+ will perform "Julius Ceasar" Performance Day: Friday, July 24. All participants are required to attend from 10 am-8 pm (approx) with lunch and dinner breaks (meals not provided). Dress Rehearsal: 2 pm; Performance: 6 pm. Centennial Bowling Club (entering gr. 5-12)Sports & RecreationBowling Club is a fall co-ed sport. Bowlers of all skill experience levels are welcome! New bowlers may attend up to two practices before committing to join. Fee includes practices, coaching by skilled instructors, and regular season competitions. 5th and 6th graders are eligible for practice only. Practices will be held at Bowlero Blaine, our sponsoring bowling center for the Centennial High School bowling team, on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 4-5:30 pm. Bowlers must provide their own transportation to practices and meets. The team manager can help arrange carpooling for those that are interested. Conference meets will take place one day per week on Friday afternoons at bowling centers in Arden Hills and Mounds View from early September through mid-November (skipping MEA). The club end dates are estimates and will depend on the meet schedule. Students are welcome to join at any time. No equipment is needed and a Centennial bowling t-shirt is included. Starting SoonCentennial Centurion LEGO Robotics (entering gr. 3-8)AcademicsThe Centennial robotics team, the Centurions, will teach participants STEM skills by designing, building, and programming robots. Leaders from the Centurions will share their knowledge in a fun and supportive environment. Work with 2-3 participants and a LEGO® kit. Develop mechanical, electrical, and programming skills. Put these skills to the test in a fun and supportive robot competition. Parents are welcome to join at 11:30 on the second day for a demonstration. Centennial PreschoolThe Centennial School District provides high-quality part-day and full-day preschool experiences. Classrooms are located at each of the elementary schools in the Centennial School District as well as the Early Childhood Center. (Part-day classes are only offered at the Early Childhood Center.) Cougar Football Camp (entering gr. 2-6)Sports & RecreationDesigned for TACKLE football players. This camp features offensive instruction including technique play for quarterbacks, running backs, receivers and linemen. Defensive instruction includes technique play for interior linemen, linebackers, ends and defensive backs. Kicking game skills will also be covered. Participants will be divided into groups according to age. Come in comfortable athletic clothing and tennis shoes. Helmet and other equipment not needed. Bring a labeled water bottle. Camp includes a t-shirt and instruction by high school football coaches and players. Players who signed up with CYFA for fall 2026 TACKLE football can attend camp for free; however, must register. Otherwise, the camp fee is $65. Please select the session that correlates with your child's grade level they will be entering in the fall.
