Drop-In & PlayParent-Child ClassesDrop-In Class: No registration required. Registering gets your information into the system to make payments easier, but does NOT guarantee you a spot in the class. Drop-in classes are first-come, first-served until we reach capacity. Drop-in & Play! We're here every Monday and Friday classes are in session. (See calendar on our webpage for holidays.) Come once in a while or make it a weekly habit. Cost is $5/child or $10 family, paid by credit card at the door. Multi-visit punch cards are available. Space is limited. Explore With BabyParent-Child ClassesDrop-in Class: Register online or sign in at your first class Your baby is changing each day, and at times, growth seems to be happening before your eyes! Come meet other parents of new babies and learn ways to help your baby grow while getting the support you need as a parent. Children must be under 9 months old to start class, but once started may stay through the end of the school year regardless of age. This class is FREE. All are welcome to join us for a one-time class, whether you are already attending a weekly ECFE class or you have never been to ECFE before! Find the theme that resonates with your child's interests or introduce them to something new. Cost is $10/child for ages 1-1/2 to 5. Class Date Description Grandparents Class Fri, Oct 3 It's a day to celebrate the extra-special people in our lives. Invite your pop-pop or gamma to come to school with you! Stories Come Alive Fri, Oct 10 We'll learn how to make a story jump off the page. Activities, art projects, songs, and finger plays will be based on favorite familiar stories - and new ones, too! All About Art Fri, Oct 24 Come dressed for mess as we explore our artistic side using several mediums - paint, collage, glue, fabric, and playdough. We'll also include circle time with some music and movement. Music & Movement Fri, Nov 7 Songs, dancing, making/playing musical instruments, painting to music, a parachute game, and an obstacle course are planned for this day of fun! Fantasy & Pretend Fri, Nov 14 Come play in our fantasy land with castles, pirates, unicorns, and dinosaurs. We'll create whimsical creatures and glittering crowns. Circle time will include discussion and stories that are "real" and "just pretend." CANCELLED Bakery Shop Fri, Dec 5 Our classroom will be transformed into a (playdough) bakery shop, and we will decorate a real treat to take home. A mischievous gingerbread friend may lead us on a hunt to find him! S'more Fun Indoors Wed, Jan 14 Families will gather around a "campfire," use flashlights to discover hidden surprises, and enjoy playful games that make camping come alive. A magical hour of fun designed for curious campers and their grown-ups. Sweethearts & Songs Wed, Feb 11 A day full of love and lively fun! We'll sing, dance, and make heart-themed instruments to celebrate friendship and caring. Expect high-energy movement and a gentle circle time with stories about love and kindness. Winter Wonderland Science Wed, Feb 18 Time to get curious! We’ll explore snow, ice, and simple sensory science experiments (think fizzy hearts, melting “snow,” and oobleck). Includes wintery art projects and hands-on discovery play with a frosty twist. Leprechaun Mischief & Magic Wed, Mar 4 Join us as we go on a hunt for a sneaky leprechaun! We’ll make shamrock crafts, mix up some green playdough, and maybe even find a pot of gold. Be ready for giggles, surprises, and a bit of St. Patrick’s Day magic. Silly School Day Wed, Apr 1 Nothing is quite what it seems today! We'll have silly dress-up, upside-down stories, backwards songs, and funny games that turn the usual routine on its head. At checkout you will be asked for a payment method (credit card or checking account), which will be charged only for add-ons class(es). Any other ECFE registrations will be held for the lottery. When you check out and your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive this email, your registration may not be processed. Young ExplorersParent-Child ClassesAdd-On Class: Registration required. The Young Explorers series allows for play and learning focused on a different theme for each class. Classes meet Tuesdays for 3 weeks from 1-2:30pm. Please note that classes may include guest speakers and field trips. This is a separating class, and parenting time will include discussions of theme-related topics as well as general joys and concerns. Sibling care is available for onsite days for an additional $10 per child per class ($7 for Young Bakers). Class Dates Description Young Bakers New Dates: September 16, 23, 30 We will explore age-appropriate baking recipes without using an oven. Young Farmers New Dates: October 21, 28, November 4 We'll learn about farms, farmers, crops, and animals. A visit to Autumnwood Farms will bring it all to life! Young Scientists November 25, December 2, 9 Opportunities for children to use their minds and hands to play, explore, and learn. What fun things will we create? Young Chefs January 20, 27, February 3 We'll be whipping up a variety of recipes you can eat in the classroom and make again at home. Young Helpers February 17, 24, March 3 We will discover the helpers in our community - police, fire fighters, postal workers, librarians - and get a chance to be helpers ourselves. NEW! Young Performers March 31, April 7 Bring out your inner superstar! We'll explore the arts and learn about music therapy. This 2-week class is $20 per child, with sibling care available for $7 per child. (Be sure to select the $7 sibling care rate.) Young Gardeners April 21, 28, May 5 How does your garden grow? We'll explore plants and the growing cycle. Prepare to get your hands dirty as we visit All Good Organics in Centerville to see what is growing in the greenhouse and visit the baby goats!
