Once their robots are built, they’ll dive into programming to make them move, attack, or even think on their own. This hands-on camp is both fun and educational, teaching the foundations of building, coding, and problem solving through robotics. Working in teams, participants will then be challenged to modify and re-engineer their robots to become better, stronger, and faster. In this camp, participants will bring superheroes to life through storytelling, design, and beginner-friendly coding. Using Scratch, they will create simple interactive games where heroes move, jump, and overcome challenges, while learning foundational coding concepts. Participants will also step into the world of digital media by producing their own superhero stop-motion short film, complete with props and sets they design themselves. This camp blends coding, art, and imagination. Participants should have basic reading skills, be comfortable using a computer, and bring a USB drive on the last day. NEW! Hacking Minecraft (entering gr. 2-6)AcademicsOne of the most popular video games in history, Minecraft, opens a world of endless possibilities limited only by imagination. In this camp, participants will go beyond regular gameplay to “hack” Minecraft by learning how to modify and enhance their worlds. They’ll use popular game mods, experiment with building challenges, and unlock hidden features that change the way the game is played. Participants will also create and edit custom skins and textures, personalizing their worlds to match their style. Along the way, they’ll explore how commands, mods, and creative tools work together to expand Minecraft’s potential. This camp uses the PC/Java edition of Minecraft.
